Teddington School U15 borough indoor champions

teddington_school_u15_borough_champions_1_50Last week (16/01/2017) Teddington School swept away the opposition in a dominant display of strength and skill to win the Richmond Borough U15 Indoor cricket tournament. They were joined by 3 other teams Grey Court (2nd), Twickenham Academy and Waldegrave in the Sports Centre at Teddington school.

Last year the invincible Teddington U13 girls team crushed all before them and several of these players have graduated to the senior side. The Teddington team included six Bushy Park Girls including Sadie Day, Lauren Avery, Cerys Owen, Lara Nunn, Amelie Munday and Ella Waldron. With three of these girls also playing for Middlesex CC it was no surprise to learn that they had won the title but to secure the laurels without even the loss of one wicket is truly awe inspiring.

The girls will now progress to the Outer London Schools tournament at the Middlesex Indoor school in Finchley. Good luck!

Waldegrave Swans vs Teddington Kingfishers: The indoor titans

2016_waldegrave_cricket_25Last Friday saw nine Bushy Park Girls playing in the Richmond Borough Indoor Schools Competition at Waldegrave School in Twickenham. Teddington School as last year’s champions came with a fearsome reputation and six Bushy Park girls in their ranks including Kate Middleton, Emma Nunn, Imogen Higgins, Izzy Jenner, Georgia Dobson and captain Abigail Avery. Teddington not only won last year’s tournament they went on to beat Godolphin and Latimer School to be crowned U13 indoor Middlesex School Champions 2016.

Without last year’s opponents Grey Court and Turin House, it was Waldegrave and Christ’s School who joined Teddington in the tournament. With healthy wins for both Waldegrave and Teddington against a plucky Christ’s side it all came down to a head-to-head between the two titans.

In a reversal of last year’s result it was the Waldegrave Swans who came out the winners in a tough contest against the Teddington Kingfishers. BPG’s Paige Goodwin captained the Swans and it was her batting that proved one of the decisive factors in the contest. Not to be outdone Evie Davies bagged a brace of wickets and Jess Low snaffled a hat-trick to secure the win. Waldegrave now aim to follow in Teddington School’s footsteps when they travel to the Lady Taverners Middlesex final in Finchley next year.

Teddington Invincibles march on!

Tedd_Lady_Taverners_2_3_2016Teddington School girls cricket team were crowned Middlesex U13 indoor champions after beating Godolphin and Latimer School in the Lady Taverner’s final last Wednesday (02/03/2016). The Lady Taverners U13 indoor (schools) cricket competition has given over 110,000 girls the opportunity to enjoy competitive cricket since it’s inception. The 2016 Middlesex final marks the 13th anniversary of this Lady Taverners competition, but it wasn’t an unlucky number for the Teddington girls and we hope their luck continues when they play the other county finalists for the National title later in the year.

Well done to Bushy Park Girls CC players Ella Waldren, Sadie Day, Amelie Munday, Pheobe Head, Kate Middleton, Emma Nunn and Abigail Avery who played for Teddington School.
